We have seen a lot of changes in the Laptop-Tablet segment with Laptops coming into the market that can be used as a tablet also, they have touch screens and what not. As you will know, there aren't many changes in phones except for that they're becoming bigger and bigger.
Samsung recently filed a patent with USPTO, which has been revealed a few days back. The patent shows a smartphone that can change into a tablet. Earlier this year, reports hinted that Samsung was working on a folding phone under the name Project Valley. The patent, titled Foldable Device and Method Of Controlling The Same, was submitted to the USPTO on May 26th, 2015.
The sketches of the application showed quite a bit with icons of WhatsApp, phone, messages and even a iPod logo. This could mean that both the companies are working together on this device. We do not expect to see much on the leaked images of the device as both Samsung and Apple are good enough at keeping their secrets a secret.
Talking about the design of the smartphone from the sketches of the patent application, the device looks very unique, or I must tell weird.
On one side it has a curved edge but on the opposite side it has a sharp rectangular curve. This idea and Smartphone-to-Tablet by Samsung could actually be very successful if the design of the phone is taken into consideration.
Would you want to use a phone like this in the near future? Do tell us in the comments below!
